Join Norman and A/D/O to kick off Hygge Week with a conversation with Meik Wiking and some delicious food in a hyggeligt environment February 21st from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
Though there’s no clear definitive way to define the Danish word “Hygge” (pronounced HUE-gah), it is widely accepted as a ritual of simple enjoyments in life: family, friends, contentment, good vibes, graciousness.
From February 21 - 25, Norman Restaurant and A/D/O are partnering to bring Hygge to Brooklyn for a week-long celebration of the Danish ritual. During Hygge Week, Norman will be transformed with hyggeligt furnishings and decor as well as special hyggeligt plates to be unveiled on the menu at Norman each day.
Hygge Week begins with a private dinner on February 21st with Meik Wiking, author of “The Little Book of Hygge: Danish Secrets to Happy Living.” Wiking will give a special presentation and conversation on what Hygge means to Scandinavian people and its global impact while guests enjoy a Hygge style menu by Stephan Ilynyckyj and Fredrik Berselius.
Hygge Week will also feature special lighting, furniture, architecture and design on display in A/D/O and Norman that will be open to the public during regular business hours
